The Firefighter Rescue Survey (FFRS) is a data collection website designed to raise awareness and demonstrate the value of firefighting rescue reporting for the improvement of civilian outcomes and fireground operations.
In the first 65 days of 2026, 822 rescues from 423 structure fires have been reported across the United States in the news, google search, etc. That’s the equivalent of 12.6 rescues per day.
This data collection is an invaluable tool that should be used by all.
The Maysville Professional Firefighters will always emphasize the importance of an aggressive primary search, window or door initiated. These are more than statistics to us—they are people who deserve a chance to survive.

A union is more than representation, it’s fire fighters standing together to protect our jobs, our safety, and the future of our profession.
Fire Fighters across Ohio chose to stand together through the OAPFF and secured major legislative victories that protect our members and their families. From the repeal of Senate Bill 5, to the passage of the Fire Fighter Cancer Presumption Law and PTSI protections, our collective voice has strengthened our profession.
Working collectively with the #IAFF we continue to push forward on critical national priorities. Repealing the WEP/GPO provisions, advancing safer PFAS-free alternatives for gear and equipment, and protecting the collective bargaining rights, and pressing manufactures on delays and rising cost of fire apparatus.
All this is done through the power, strength, and benefits of being union.
